Dick Gregory Society

Dick Gregory was a great friend of the National Congress of Black Women, Inc. He attended NCBW brunches annually. Everyone from across the country expected him to be there. He never disappointed the hundreds who attended the event. He would entertain everyone until late into the evening. He shared his wisdom. He took endless photos with everyone who wanted.

Mr. Gregory and NCBW President, Dr. E. Faye Williams, were inseparable social activist friends. One could depend upon them to speak out and picket for the great causes of the day - voting rights, immigration reform, fair wages, world hunger, BP's refusal to pay marginalized people for damage from the 2011 oil spill, Indian fishing rights, the demand to change the insulting name of the Redskins(NFL Football team) and their right to live on their land without government or corporate interference, criminal justice, women's rights and more.

Dr. Wiliams was a constant visitor, along with his family, during Mr. Gregory's illness.

She promises to STAY WOKE and she's pledged to carry on his work for humanity.
